The curriculum in 2011-12 consists of a five day timetable of 25 periods of one hour. Pupils cover Dance within PE on a rotational basis. For timetable purposes, only some pupils will have Dance on their timetable but all will be taught Dance at some point during the year. The year groups receive the following lesson allocation:
| Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) | Two periods per 5 day cycle |
| Key Stage 4 (Year 10) | Two periods per 5 day cycle (core) |
| Two periods per 5 day cycle (Ed-excel GCSE) | |
| Four periods per 5 day cycle (Ed-excel B-tec Sports) | |
| Year 11 | Two periods per 5 day cycle (core) |
| Two period per 5 day cycle (Ed-excel GCSE) | |
| Year 12 | Five periods per 5 day cycle (Ed-excel AS Level) |
| Five periods [er 5 day cycle (B-tec Sports Singles Award) | |
| Ten periods per 5 day cycle (B-tec Sports Double Award) | |
| Year 13 | Five periods per 5 day cycle (Ed-excel A2 Level) |
| Five periods per 5 day cycle (B-tec Sports Singles Award) | |
| Ten periods per 5 day cycle (B-tec Sports Double Award) |
As a general principle, the range of activities offered in each year group broadens as the pupils progress through from Year 7 to Year 11. We encourage and guide pupils along sporting pathways based on their interest and strengths. The groupings therefore change according to these factors and include pupils being in mixed ability and mixed gender groups.
