English is a varied and exciting subject that allows students to be creative, analytical and thoughtful. At Wollaston School the English Faculty works hard to engage students at every level with interesting and challenging lessons.

Across the Key Stages students will be encouraged to be enthusiastic, independent learners through discussion and varied tasks. Students and teachers measure progress through the use of challenging target grades or levels. Regular, formal assessments are an important part of the Faculty’s planning but, alongside this, peer and self assessment has become a key part of helping students to understand how to make further progress.
